The Exhibition Society is a non-profit organization registered under the Companies Act 1956. It was started in the year 1938 by Osmania Graduates Association (OGA) to promote industrial development in the erstwhile Hyderabad State by organizing industrial exhibitions to promote products manufactured by small and medium scale industries within the country.
The Exhibition Society was formally registered in 1944 with the following objectives:
Today the Exhibition Society is an 80-yearold organisation. Its members are from various walks of life including, Political Leaders, Business Leaders, Govt. Servants, Advocates, Engineers, IT professionals, Social Entrepreneurs, etc, united by their common resolve to work on a voluntary basis, particularly in the areas of vocational training and higher education for women. Through the last 8 decades, members demonstrated extraordinary commitment towards the society through their lifetime and gave their personal time all round the year. Their consistent support gave the society’s initiatives much-needed continuity to fulfill long-term objectives. Such a contribution called for great sacrifice by the members.
The proceeds generated from the activities of the Exhibition Society are utilised for sponsoring and managing 18 Educational Institutions located in the rural and backward areas of Telangana, giving quality education to about 30,000 students every year.
The Exhibition Society conducts the All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) every year, popularly known as “Numaish”. The 1st AIIE was conducted at Public Garden in 1938 and the venue was shifted to the present Exhibition Grounds in Nampally in 1946. The Exhibition Society celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1965, Golden Jubilee in 1998, Diamond Jubilee in 2000 and Platinum Jubilee in 2015.
